Capital protected fund closes

The Appleton Capital Protected Fund has closed to new investments and the five year term of the fund will run from this date. The fund is protected by Deutsche Bank paper and will participate in Appleton’s much heralded currency trading platform.

Management buyout completed

David Walsh and Jeremy O'Friel have successfully completed the purchase of the remaining equity of the company held by the Appleton Group of South Africa. The firm is now 100% owned by the principals. There will be no change to the branding or logo of the firm.

Appleton Capital Management have decided to make the Appleton 25% Risk Program available in fund format for offshore investors.

Two new funds to be launched

The second half of 2002 will see the launch of two new products. The Appleton Fixed Income Opportunity Fund will start trading on September 1st. Traded by ex-ABN AMRO trader Stephen Lane, the fund will be a fixed-income arbitrage approach based on European and US investment grade debt. The fund will be a Cayman Islands vehicle with a minimum investment of $250,000.
